Texas Health Resources’s Texas Health Organizations for Physicians is growing and is in search of a HIM Supervisor of Health Information and Privacy to join our Regulatory Compliance Team. This position is located in Dallas, Texas.
The HIM and Privacy Supervisor for the Texas Health Organization for Physicians and Texas Health Physician Group will be an active leader in managing the medical records, health information, and compliance aspects of the group. This position will report to Texas Health Resources’ Corporate Compliance Senior Vice President – Chief Compliance Officer.

Texas Health Organizations for Physicians (THOP) is a Texas Health Resources’ 501(a) not-for-profit health corporation offering employment opportunities for administration staff working with THOP’s service providers. Texas Health Physicians Group is a physician organization that offers a variety of opportunities for physician alignment in various areas, including medical staff organization, system ambulatory care, physician services contracting, management services organizations, independent practice association relations and physician employment. THPG employs hundreds of doctors throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area including primary care physicians and specialists in a variety of subspecialties.
Position Details:
The successful candidate will plan, organize, and delegate activities as required for the safe, efficient and effective operations of the medical records department including active participation with clinic and physician offices (700 +/- providers) and leadership staff to accomplish this objective. They will also develop and oversee the implementation of policies, procedures, and standards that direct medical record operations. This person will be responsible for actively incorporating measures to obtain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and requirements related to medical records.
As part of this role, the candidate will serve as Texas Health Physician Group/Texas Health Medsynergies Privacy Officer and work with the Office of Civil Rights as needed. They will also be involved in establishing the priorities as the department and physician group continue to grow.
Candidate Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare related field required, prefer it to be in Health Information Management
-Five (5) years progressive management responsibility in heath care, including experience in compliance and health information privacy regulations, policies, and procedures
Preferred Requirements/Qualifications:
-AHIMA or related certifications are highly preferred (for example: RHIA, CCS, RHIT, CHPS)
-Physician Practice experience desired
Candidate Skills:
-Knowledge of industry standards regarding medical records, Medicare, OSHA, and Federal and State Privacy and Information Security laws and regulations
-Knowledge of continuous improvement and change management
